Sarah (gallery assistant) says: it was a success! To start off with I felt nervous but soon got into the swing of things again and felt at home. My confidence with the till system came back instantly and using the stylus pen was really easy. Mine is turquoise! The customers seemed to feel at ease coming in and were very happy to see us back! When customers came in and left the shop I mentioned the hand sanitiser which they could use if they wanted to. Most people did use it. I wore a mask which I was happy about and also gloves. I kept changing my gloves so I wasn’t wearing the same pair all day. We took £105.03 today which I was really happy with! Beat that tomorrow Claire and Robert if you can! The induction that Susie and I went through was mostly common sense but good to remind us about keeping safe.
July 7th – re-opening of The People Hive, here we welcome our first customer.
Susie (Oppportunites & Development Manager) says: what a great day! Sarah is a champion and luckily I didn’t have to get involved at all with the payments! We had a steady stream of people coming in, lots of people bought cards. Only once did people have to wait outside and they were more than happy to do that. I worked at the big table (away from all the quarantining stock!) so I could see Sarah. We had loads of phone calls (all dealt with) and the day has gone really quickly. We are both really tired though! It has been lovely to catch up with Sarah and also chat to customers.
