I started making CHOCOLATE about 6 years ago after injuring my back, this affected me doing my normal job, so I thought ‘what could I do’?
I obviously love CHOCOLATE so decided I’d try to make some. I went on a couple of courses to learn how to temper CHOCOLATE properly, how to flavour and work with CHOCOLATE.
CHOCOLATE is flavoured using either oil or powder, I make my own chilli oil as i couldn’t find a strong enough oil to make my chilli and lime dark bars. All the CHOCOLATE I use is from Belgium, it comes to me in little buttons. I temper it before I turn it into the creations I love making, I especially love making the shoes as my imagination can run wild. I have quite a large selection of different flavoured bars ranging from lime and sea salt to blackcurrant and liquorice with honeycomb, fudge and salted caramel in-between. I love new ideas and will try new flavours, not all of them work, I tried Marmite once with milk CHOCOLATE, and it didn’t work too well.
I also run CHOCOLATE workshops and I’m really looking forward to running some at The People Hive. It’s a pleasure to be at The People Hive, I was recommended by a friend, as they have a lovely selection of locally made gifts and it’s great to see a percentage going back to the charity that supports adults with learning disabilities in the local community.
