Meet the Artist @ The People Hive
We offer, normally on a Saturday, and usually once a month, a unique opportunity for artists to be “in residence” at our Gallery Shop to meet potential customers and to showcase their creations. This is called our Meet The Artist @ The People Hive. It also provides an opportunity for customers to talk to the artist or crafter, to find out what inspires their creations and the methods and techniques they use in creating their art.
Depending on the art or craft being showcased, there could also be an opportunity for visitors to try their hand at creating something in the same style as that being showcased and to take home their creation as a memento!
Some Meet The Artist @ The People Hive sessions have included:
Sylvie Freullet from 18th February. Sylvie loved chatting to the customers in the shop and showing them how she makes her beautiful pots and butterflies.
Adventures in Abstract with Anna Dyson
Anna Dyson from 15th April. Anna is a long-standing artist with The Hive and was actually our first ever Meet the Artist with a great display of her beautiful bags and paintings.
Wonders in Watercolour with Helen Hayhoe
Alex Bemrose brought along her lovely painted stones and a variety of gifts in March. Alex enjoyed the morning, chatting to customers and staff about her craft.
Woodcraft Wizardry with Eleanor Morgan
This is a wonderful and unique opportunity for both artists to meet with their potential customers, to advertise their art as well as for potential customers to talk to the artist and understand their motivation and techniques.
